Ajay Bhatt got the fruits of waiting for two years, BJP has an eye on 29 seats in Kumaon

In view of the upcoming assembly elections, BJP is taking big steps under a very simple strategy. After changing the face of the Chief Minister last week, the BJP has again surprised by including its MP Ajay Bhatt in the Union Cabinet.

Efforts have been made to woo Brahmin votes along with Thakur by making Kshatriya chief minister from Kumaon and Ajay Bhatt a Brahmin as a minister at the centre. These two big decisions are also being seen as a siege of the opposition Congress.

Ajay Bhatt had to face defeat from Ranikhet seat in the 2017 elections. After this, in the Lok Sabha elections of the year 2019, instead of the then MP Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the BJP had fielded then state president Ajay Bhatt from the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar seat and make him active in the politics of the center instead of the state.

Ajay was pitted against veteran Congress leader and former Chief Minister Harish Rawat. Bhatt, who was holding the charge of the state president at the time of elections, had the dual responsibility of registering victory in four other seats besides himself. Along with his organizational ability, his political credibility was also tested. Ajay not only defeated Rawat by a record 3 lakh 39 thousand 96 votes but also showed strong organizational ability by winning all otyher four seats.

Ajay was involved in the race to get the place of minister from Uttarakhand quota at the center due to high organization and political stature. In the first term of the Modi government, Almora MP Ajay Tamta got a place in the cabinet. In view of this, Ajay Bhatt was expected to get a place, but instead Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal was selected Bhatt had to wait for another 2 years to get his due.
